Biographical / Historical
Alan Walker Tyson, CBE, FBA (1926-2000) was a musicologist and psychologist. See Grove Music Online for further details.
Rosamund (Corky) McGuinness (1929–2012) was an American music historian. She gained her Master's degree from Smith College, Massachusetts and her PhD from the University of Oxford. McGuinness begun her teaching career at Royal Holloway College in 1969, becoming its first woman Professor of Music History in 1990. Her primary research interest was the economic and business history of English music. Her work led to the development of the Register of Musical Data in London Newspapers 1660-1800.
