A common place book ('Liber C'), containing extracts chiefly from Latin classical authors and from modern historical works in Latin and English. The volume is made out of two, the bottoms of the leaves of one being joined to the tops of the leaves of the other.

The earliest writing is of the beginning of the 17th cent., but there are at least two other hands in the volume, one of which seems identical with one in MS. Eng. misc. d. 28, which is a companion volume. The latest book quoted is perhaps one of 1622 (p. 442). There is no arrangement or index.
