Songs for treble with bass accompaniment, except for no. 7, 14-18. Calligraphic copy with pen and ink flourishes and two drawings of a woman's head (fols. 2v, 4v).

Custodial History

This item is part of the Music School collection of printed and manuscript music, which was originally bequeathed to the University of Oxford by William Heather (c 1563-1627), and gradually added to until the end of the 18th century.

Immediate Source of Acquisition

The collection was transferred to the Bodleian in 1885.

Physical Facet

39 leaves irregularly quired; many leaves have been removed. Watermark, Bird, somewhat resembling Heawood 199; countermarks LR, PR. Ruled according to need. Bound in silk embossed with pictures of a woman's face on each cover, much worn.
