Fragments of musical MSS.:

  1. Fols. 1-2. two imperfect parchment leaves of the 14th cent., containing part of a religious service, in Latin and French
  2. Fols. 3-6. four paper leaves of the first half of the 17th century, bearing partly a 'Galliardo quadrans' and partly a piece of '[J. D]owlands Almayne.'

  • For fols. 1-2 see 'Early Bodleian Music', I. xix (§11) and facsimiles 16-19, II. 44-50. It contains (1) an imperfect Latin hymn to St. James, (2) an imperfect Agnus Dei in 3 parts, (3) an imperfect 4-part French hymn to the Virgin ('Regne de pite'), (4) 'O benigne Redemptor', in 3 parts, imperfect, (5) 'Alleluya hic est vere martir', in 3 parts, imperfect, over erased text. I have dated the writing 'about 1380.'
