Copies of 'Lettres sur l'histoire de France par le comte Charles [for Henri] de Boullainvilliers', i.e. the fourteen letters 'sur les parlements ou états généraux' to A.D. 1467, printed at Amsterdam in 1727 and at London in 1728.

The third volume is in a different hand and entitled 'Suite des Reflexions ... de M. de Boulainviller.'

Biographical / Historical

Henri de Boulainvilliers, comte de Boulainvilliers, comte de Saint-Saire, (1658-1722) was a historian and astrologer.

Custodial History

The first two volumes have 'Des Bournais' stamped in gold letters on one side, and 'A. Pleney' impressed on the inside cover (both 18th century); the third bears on each panel of the back arms (two lions passant gardant crowned) and the words 'Lud. Mag. Inst. 1695.'
