Abstract

The collection of volumes assembled by Strickland Gibson (1877-1958), Keeper of Printed Books at the Bodleian, for the study and teaching of bibliography.

Biographical / Historical

Strickland Gibson (1877-1958) was a member of the Bodleian staff from 1891, and Sub-Librarian 1931-45. Details are given in Who Was Who.

Immediate Source of Acquisition

The manuscripts were given to the Library by Strickland Gibson in 1952.
