Biographical / Historical
Dr. Robert Shippen (1675-1745) was matriculated at Brasenose College 1693, Principal of the College 1710-45, and Vice-chancellor of the University of Oxford, 1718-23.

Custodial History
These three volumes were no. 4274 in the Phillipps library, and were purchased in 1826, probably from Thomas Thorpe.

In the Phillipps sale, June 1893, they were lot 598, and were then bought by the Bodleian.
