Wilberforce Family archive, 1726-[c.1900].

Biographical / Historical

The members of the Wilberforce family of Markington represented in this collection are William Wilberforce (1759-1833), MP and philanthropist, and Samuel Wilberforce (1805-1873), Bishop of Oxford and Winchester. Details are given in the Dictionary of National Biography.

This collection was acquired by the Library in 1965, 1966, 1969 and 1970.
