Other Finding Aids
Falconer Madan, et al., A summary catalogue of western manuscripts in the Bodleian Library at Oxford which have not hitherto been catalogued in the Quarto series (7 vols. in 8 [vol. II in 2 parts], Oxford, 1895-1953; reprinted, with corrections in vols. I and VII, Munich, 1980), vol. V, nos. 27922-27944.
Custodial History
Ingham Foster died in 1782, and the sale of his collections took place in the following year. It cannot however be regarded as certain that these volumes came as one lot, though they probably all belonged to Mr. Foster.
Immediate Source of Acquisition
These volumes appear to correspond to the following entry in a Bodleian bill of messrs. Prince and Cooke, booksellers of Oxford, paid in October 1786, 'Forster's M.St Catalogue of Coins--£5 5s.'
