Various accounts, deeds, etc., relating to Bury St. Edmund's, 1521-1643, among which are:

  1. Fol. 8. Computi of the feoffees of the lands of the Gild of the Purification of the Virgin at Bury, 1520-1 to 1533-4, except 1525-6
  2. Fol. 30. Rentals of the town lands, 1619-20, 1624-5 (the cover of this latter is part of a petition from Roger Lynge about the manor of Haughley, of James i's reign, on parchment), 1625-6, 1626-7, 1628-9, 1629-30, and 1636-7 (the cover of the last is part of a parchment lease by John Mallowes of Bury, early 17th cent.)
  3. Fol. 87. Two papers relating to the tithes of Foxerth in Essex, 1570 and 1613
  4. Fol. 99. A copy of the Gild Hall feoffment, July 23, 1639, with notes
  5. Fol. 116. Particulars of fee-farm rents once belonging to the abbey, 17th cent.
  6. Fol. 123. 'Some Account of the Priviledges etc. of the Abbey ... by the Revd Mr. James Reynolds' (about 1720)
  7. There are also two original wills, of Robert Pope of Weybread, May 21, 1635 (fol. 6), and of Henry Wakeman of Benhall, March 11, 1642/3 (fol. 121)
  8. At fol. 2 are notes of the Ipswich assizes of July, 1637, cf. fol. 94
