The printed score is: William Bennett, A new set of psalm tunes and anthems, : in four parts, for the use of country choirs; with an introduction to music (Exeter: Printed for the author, and sold by Edward Score ... and James Wallis, in Plymouth. Exeter: Printed by R. Trewman ..., [177-?]).

The manuscript additions are 14 additional anthems, all anonymous, copied in a uniform late-18th/early-19th-century hand onto blank ruled pages following the printed score, with pagination continuing that of the printed item. The only other two recorded copies (Clark Library, UCLA, and Massachusetts Historical Society) have similar additions.

The anthems are all for 4 voices (SATB) with verse sections and unspecified instruments:

  2. (pp. 112-119) 'The dying Christian: an ode' (beg. 'Vital spark of heav'nly flame')
  3. (pp. 120-122) 'An anthem from the Collect for the 7th Sunday after Trinity' (beg. 'Lord of all power and might')
  4. (pp. 123-134) 'An anthem from the 145th Psalm' (beg. 'I will magnify thee O God my King')
  5. (pp. 135-143) 'An anthem from the 105th Psalm' (beg. 'O give thanks unto the Lord')
  6. (pp. 144-151) 'An anthem from the 1st Chapt[e]r of Isaiah' (beg. 'Hear O heav'ns and give ear O earth')
  7. (pp. 152-159) 'An anthem from the 57th Psalm' (beg. 'Awake up my glory')
  8. (pp. 160-171) 'An anthem from the 15th Chapt[e]r of Corinthians' (beg. 'Now is Christ risen from the dead')
