Manuscript additions to a printed score of William Bennett's A new set of psalm tunes and anthems
The printed score is: William Bennett, A new set of psalm tunes and anthems, : in four parts, for the use of country choirs; with an introduction to music (Exeter: Printed for the author, and sold by Edward Score ... and James Wallis, in Plymouth. Exeter: Printed by R. Trewman ..., [177-?]).
The manuscript additions are 14 additional anthems, all anonymous, copied in a uniform late-18th/early-19th-century hand onto blank ruled pages following the printed score, with pagination continuing that of the printed item. The only other two recorded copies (Clark Library, UCLA, and Massachusetts Historical Society) have similar additions.
The anthems are all for 4 voices (SATB) with verse sections and unspecified instruments:
