The transcript or 'copy' for the greater part of the Account of the Gentlemen's Society at Spaldings
The transcript or 'copy' for the greater part of the Account of the Gentlemen's Society at Spaldings, printed in vol. 3 of Nichols's Bibliotheca Topographica Britannica (Lond. 1790), but not exactly as printed, parts being left out (see fols. 23-6, etc.) and the order of parts rearranged, while many of the notes, and some of the dissertations of Maurice Johnson, are not here.
Fol. 133 shows that Richard Gough was the editor of the volume, while fols. 120-140 are in a different hand from the rest: fols. 141-end are blank. At fol. xii is an original letter from Maurice Johnson, June 30, 1744.
