Anthem, 'Praise God in his Sanctuary', by William Croft
Psalm 150, 'Praise God in his Sanctuary', anthem for ATB soli, SATB chorus and organ written for the opening of the organ at Finedon, Northants, in 1717. Autograph; in two sections, verses 1-2 and 4-6. At the end of verse 2 (fol. 35) Novello noted 'For the remainder of the Anthem see the 4th vol. of my collection of Croft's MS. compositions' (British Library MS. Add. 17844, fols. 3-16). Verses 4-6 were copied, possibly in error, by Novello in British Library MS. Add. 17848, foll. 86-91, as part of the anthem 'The Lord hath appeared for us'.
