Custodial History
These papers were at one time loose in Auct. V. 2. infra 2. 22, a collection of Swinton's works with a watercolour portrait of him, which was sold to messrs. Fletcher booksellers of Oxford in 1777, was bought by R. Gough from the library of G. Scott in 1781 for £2 2s., and fetched the same sum as lot 3602 in the Gough sale 1810. Perhaps it was then bought for the Bodleian.
