'Extracts from Charters and other documents relating to Yorkshire Families', a title by G. Sumner: a partial index, and lists of the sources are at fols. ii, 44, 96v: they consist of irregular notes from public records, chartularies of Fountains and Furness abbies, evidences in private hands, arms from windows, etc.

There is an index in manuscript (in the Library) to the chief families and sources. The writer may be Robert Tower, who supplies some Nottinghamshire notes on fol. 1. One note is as late as 1630 (fol. 24).
