A combined diary and account book of a French refugee, perhaps a Huguenot, living at York, July 20, 1688-July 31, 1690. He was acquainted with the Fairfax family, and had relations in the city. Among the entries are:
- Feb. 14, 1688/9 'jour de rejouissance pour notre deliverance des papists'
- Apr. 25, 1689 'jour de ma naisance'
- Feb. 20, 1689/90 'Le matin au Chateau depuis 10. a 12. a cause de l'eleccion des Chevaliers du Province, my L: Fairfax et Sr Jo: Key [Kay], ou j'ay ete avec Sr Geo: Cook. Au temps de priere l'apresmidi au monastere, jay promenè avec my L: Fairfax -- le soir avec mes Onkle chez eux chez Guests et au Coffeehouse jusq' 10.'
- Fols. 16a-21a contain inserted prayers in English and Latin in the same hand
- The volume had been partly used, early in the 17th century, as a Latin Commonplace Book
