A diary and notebook of dr. Thomas Smith, fellow of Magdalen college, Oxford, 1668-1708, containing notes of conversations, journeys abroad and incidents of all kinds, generally contemporary.

Among them are 'An impartiall relation of the election of a President of S. Mary Magdalen College Oxon in April 1687, and the following Visitation' (fol. 14), printed (from a transcript) in the State Trials: also 'Collonel Robert Phelipps's account of the King's escape after the fatall battle of Worcester [1651], so farre as hee was concerned, transcribed from his original by me T. S.' (fol. 67, an inserted piece).

The contents are not in a straightforward order, and (fols. 68-111) are blank.
