Eight papers of payments made by, and signed by, sir Robert Carey (afterwards earl of Monmouth) on behalf of prince Charles in connexion with the production of plays, masques and tilts, in 1617-1620: each paper, except one at fol. 2, has the lower right hand corner, as usual, torn off, as is all the lower part of fol. 5.

At fol. 15 is an acknowledgement by Henry Porter of a debt owed to Phillip Henchlowe, Jan. 17, 1598/9, and a receipt by Joseph Hunt for 30s. received from Henchlowe on the same day: both transferred in 1885 from Malone 184.
