'A discourse of the comen weale of thys Realme of Englande,' with a table of contents
'A discourse of the comen weale of thys Realme of Englande,' with a table of contents. This was printed in 1581 as by W. S. Miss Lamond's edition in 1893 shows that the discourse was written in 1549, perhaps by John Hales, that W. S. edited and revised it, but that the present MS. is quite independent of his work, and is a smoother and more literary form of the treatise than the Lambarde MS. used as the basis of the modern edition. A photo-lithographic reproduction of a few lines on fol. 1 is given in miss Lamond's edition.
