'Iphis, Comædia Latina MS., Autore Henrico Bellamy', a later title, the original title-page being torn out. At fol. 1 is a dedication of 'noster Iphis', 'quem non dedignatus fuisti audire' to bp. William Juxon, then president of St. John's college, Oxford (1621-33), signed 'Henricus Bellamy ': this may be the autograph presentation copy to the president.
The Percy sale catalogue mentions that 'Iphis and Ianthe, or, a Marriage without a Man', a description which would suit the present play, was entered at Stationers' Hall on June 29, 1660, as by Shakespeare, but was never printed.
