Prayers, antiphons, etc. from the breviary of the Austin canons of St. Severin at Château-Landon, Seine-et-Marne
'Directorium annualis officij quando celebrat r. p. Abbas regalis Eclesiæ S. Severini de Castro Nantonis', a volume for the use of the abbot of the Austin canons of St. Severin at Château-Landon, dép. Seine-et-Marne. It contains the prayers, antiphons, etc. from the breviary, pronounced by the abbot throughout the year, and is followed by the 'Ordo Cæremoniarum in vestitione Nouitiorum' (fol. 62) and the 'Ordo Cæremoniarum professionis ' (fol. 67), also (added) 'Orationes ad diuersa' (fol. 74v).
The expression on fol. 37 'ex voto Ludouici 13' shows that the writing can hardly be before 1643.
There are many prettily illuminated borders, ornaments and capitals, chiefly highly coloured fruit and flowers: on fol. 30 they are unfinished.
