Biographical / Historical
Geoffrey Herklots (1902-1986) was a biologist with a particular interest in botany, ornithology and horticulture. From 1928-1945 he was Reader in Biology at the University of Hong Kong. After the Second World War he was appointed Hong Kong's Secretary for Development, then Secretary for Agricultural Research in the Colonial Office, and after that Principal of the Imperial College of Tropical Agriculture in Trinidad.
