'The century [of] books printed at Oxford': a political lampoon consisting of the titles of one hundred fictitious books, many of which are of a scurrilous character, directed against prominent contemporary statesmen and courtiers.
On the last page is a forged imprimatur dated Sept. 19, 1667. An earlier (1666) edition of this pasquinade has since been presented to the Library (MS. Eng. hist. e. 87)..
