Diaries and notes, 1880-1894, of R. S. Herries (1860-1941), as a law student at Cambridge, 1881-1884, and as a barrister in London, 1884-1894, including many descriptions of travels, mainly in Great Britain, some in Europe with (e. 3261, pp. 7-38, 39-69) the texts of two papers read to Eton (school) societies, on geology, 1880, and (e. 3261, pp. 158-122 rev.) mathematical, mainly geometrical, problems. A few pages missing (last leaf or leaves at the end of e. 3260, first leaf or leaves at the beginning of e. 3262).
