Autograph letters from benefactors to the Bodleian

Biographical / Historical

Thomas Barlow (1607-1691) was bishop of Lincoln. Thomas Tanner (1674-1735) was bishop of St. Asaph and an antiquary. Sir Robert Rawlinson (1810-1898) was a civil engineer. Thomas Carte (1686-1754) was a historian. Browne Willis (1682-1760) was an antiquary and numismatist. Edmond Malone (1741-1812) was a scholar. Francis Douce (1757-1834) was an antiquary.
