A common-place book of pieces of poetry and prose, college notes, etc., collected and partly composed by dr. William Lynnett of Trinity college, Cambridge; among which are:

  1. Fols. 3v, 5, 15v, 24v. college notes or exercises, including (fol. 16v) a list of all graduates at Trinity college 'ante festum Sti Michaelis, 1642'
  2. Fol. 14. 'A breife relation of the battell at Redhorsefield vnder the Edge-hill', by Barnard Stuart, beg. 'We marchèd upon Sunday morne from EdgeCott to EdgeHill'
  3. Fols. 19v, 26. verses and papers on the death of lady Theophila Coke, 1643
  4. Fol. 23.'To the reader on Lessius Hygiasticon' by R. Crashaw

Several leaves have been torn out, and fols. 5-7 are injured.

Custodial History

'Ri. Walker 1758. Some years agoe Mr. Brigg bought this Common place book in Smithfield, and gave it to R.W.': in 1792 it was in the hands of Thomas Bousfield (or James Simpson?), wheel-wright in Kendal.

'Bought by the Bodleian 30 Jan. 1891 from J. W. Jarvis & Son.'
