Biographical / Historical
Loretto School, Musselburgh, East Lothian, was founded in 1827. The Loretto School Ornithological Society was started in early 1947. The chief aim of the society was to keep as complete a record as possible of the numbers of birds present on the foreshore at Musselburgh throughout the three terms of the school year.
