Notebooks and papers containing bird observations made by J.H. Barrett and A.J.B. Thompson while prisoners of war in Sagan, Germany, 1943-1944. One notebook also includes a few observations made in Tarmstedt, near Bremen, 1945. With press cuttings relating to birds and ornithology, 1948-1957, mainly book reviews of The Redstart by John Buxton (published 1950).
