Biographical / Historical

Captain Mark Taylor, OBE was a Royal Navy Officer and ornithologist. He seems to have been stationed in Aden, Hong Kong and China in the 1920s and 1930s. In 1946 he was in New Zealand, assisting the New Zealand Navy in the training of senior officers, and while there took the opportunity to study the birds of that country.
