Biographical / Historical
Alan (A.F.G.) Walker (1928-1991) was a member of Harrogate and District Naturalists' Society, and the society's president in 1972. In 1977 he produced the booklet "Birds in the Harrogate District". He acted as a regional representative for Yorkshire in the Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust, 1953-1954, and in 1970 he was awarded the Bernard Tucker Medal for outstanding service to the British Trust for Ornithology.
