Other Finding Aids

Falconer Madan, et al., A summary catalogue of western manuscripts in the Bodleian Library at Oxford which have not hitherto been catalogued in the Quarto series (7 vols. in 8 [vol. II in 2 parts], Oxford, 1895-1953; reprinted, with corrections in vols. I and VII, Munich, 1980), vol. V, no. 28578.

Immediate Source of Acquisition

The papers bought in 1851 (for £12 10s.) comprised perhaps only Malone's letters to Percy, 1783-1807, and were no doubt an unbound parcel. Subsequently when, in about 1860 or so, the letters were bound, the opportunity was taken to put other correspondence of Malone with it, so that the present volume contains acquisitions of more than one date.
