Records connected with the trial of John Hampden in the matter of Ship-money, 1637-1638:

  1. (fol. 3). Two speeches of Thomas lord Coventry, June 17, 1635, and Feb. 14, 1636;
  2. (fol. 25). The record of the trial from the Exchequer records, in Latin, followed by twelve of the speeches: up to the end of these the writing is uniform, and dated on fol. 400 Jan. 23, 1637/8;
  3. (fol. 412). The arguments of the twelve judges, Feb.-June 1638, by or from an ear-witness, see fol. 492, with the subsequent proceedings to June 14, 1638;
  4. (fol. 734). The indictment of Thomas Harrison at the King's Bench, June 4, 1638, for accusing sir Richard Hutton of high treason in connexion with Hampden's case, in Latin, with an English translation.

There is a list of the contents at fol. i, preceded by 'Memorandum. This booke is not (as yet) examined by my originall Jo[hn] . R[ushworth].'
