Accurante Philopæo', the last word altered to 'Archæophilo', i.e. Charles Hayes (d. 1760).
The first part of the work is introductory essays, and was composed by Hayes in 1753-1756, as interspersed dates show: the second part ('Canon chronicus generalis', 1755-1756, fol. 206, cf. 234) is tabular, but the subject is only carried down to the middle of the 5th century B.C.
At this point archdn. Edward Yardley took up his friend's work, which bears corrections in Yardley's hand, and in 1761 composed (fol.
The volume also contains Hayes's printed Chronographiæ Specimen (Lond. 1759: at fol. xiii), and E. Y[ardley's] printed Letter to a Friend, Nov. 27, 1761, giving an account of his friend Hayes.
285 leaves foliated to '272'.
