'Nicolai Aleni Essentiani Angli Britanneïdos ... liber vii', followed by books viii-xvi: a hexameter poem on the kings of England from Ethelred ii to the Norman Conquest. Book vii begins 'At dux fraternis facilem diuiserat aurem | Neustricolum dictis mentemque per omnia versat | Intentam'. Books vii-x seem to give an account of Britain from the earliest times to Ethelred, so perhaps books i-vi were never written.

Of the last two leaves (fols. 105-6) only about the lower quarter are left, preserving, however, the last lines of the poem. The work appears to have no value. MS. Bodl. 545 is a careful copy of the whole of this volume in its present condition.
