Medical pieces:
1. Fols. 2, 46. 'The coment of the tabilles of Selerne', i.e. on the recipes of the Schola Salernitana: the first leaf (beg. 'Cassiafistula in .4. maneris it may be yevyn to the seke' in the 'prima tabula de sinagogis') is now fol. 46, and fol. 49 should follow fol. 8.
2. Fols. 33v, 81. A 'booke of 51s essences', i.e. quintessences, a translation or paraphrase from the Latin: beg. 'In nomine Patris ... Wyght [i.e. with] the myght weysdom & grace of the Holy Trinitee write to you':
- At fol. 38 are the sixteen 'soueranest medycynes'
- Some recipes occur on fols. 43, 44v, 48, 50v, and 61, and some Latin astrological notes on fol. 44r
- At fol. 50 is a copy of 'An Act for the approbacion of phesicion & surgyonis', 3 Hen. 8, 1511-12
- The old foliation shows that three leaves have been lost after fol. 44 and one after fol. 48
- On fols. 55v-61 are miscellaneous notes, partly about weights and measures, and (in Latin and English) calendarial data, such as the Cisio Janus (fol. 58)
- Also a treatise for anglers according to each month, beg. 'In the monethe of Marche begynn to angle on Seynt Vale[n]tynnes daye' (fol. 59)
3. Fol. 62. 'The boke of the Lapedarye stonys', beg. 'The berell stone ys founden in Ynde'. At fols. 65v, 79v follow recipes for an illuminator, such as colours, 'texte' and 'Lombarde' ink: and at fol. 68 101 cooking recipes, followed by a prophecy of Sir John Ball (beg. 'The tyme shall com the mone shall ourelede the sonne', fol. 76), and more cooking recipes.
4. Fol. 80v. A dietary sometimes attributed to John Lydgate, in verse: beg. 'For helth of body keuere fro colde thyne hede'.
