At fols. 70, 71 are the mottoes 'Durum patientia frango' and 'De l'Eternel le bien | De moy le mal ou rien. Junij xxi, 1617'. This volume is no. xxv in D. Laing's List of Inglis MSS. (Proc. of the Soc. of Antiquaries of Scotland, vi [1868], p. 302).
