'A dutifull defence of the lawfull Regiment of Weomen deuided into three bookes ...', addressed to the Queen in a long preface, corrected and supplied with references by the author, 'H. Hwward' (i. e. Henry Howard, afterwards earl of Northampton, (d. 1614) and given by him, as an autograph Latin poem shows, to a Stanhope, whose arms are fol. 1v. The second book begins at fol. 98, and the third at fol. 119v.
