William Ewart Gladstone (1809-1898) was an English statesman and liberal politician who served as Prime Minister of the United Kingdom for 12 years spread between 1868 and 1894. Sir Thomas Dyke Acland (1809-1898), eleventh Baronet, was an English politician and educational reformer.
