Biographical / Historical
Arthur Sampson Napier (1853-1916) was an English academic and Professor of English language and literature at Oxford. Frederick James Furnivall (1825-1910) was an English philologist and co-creator of the New English Dictionary. Sir James Augustus Henry Murray (1837-1915) was a Scottish lexicographer and philologist. Walter William Skeat (1835-1912) was an English philologist.
