Biographical / Historical

The Cartwright family moved to Aynho in 1616 and lived there for more than 300 years, having extensive land holdings in both Northamptonshire and Oxfordshire, including Deddington.

Custodial History

Signatures of William Cartwright (fols. 1, 2v, 71v-5v), Jo. Cartwright (fol. 67v) and Katherin Cartwright (lower cover), 17th century.

Immediate Source of Acquisition
