Copy of an English translation made between 1594 and 1604 by Sir Arthur Atye from Antonio Pérez, Pedaços de historia, ô relaçiones ('Leon', [London, 1594]), with the translator's own notes and corrections. Another copy of the preface (fols. 3-6) 'The translatour to the reader' is in HMC 9: Salisbury (Cecil) iv (1892), 172-4. A different translation was published as The fatal effects of arbitrary power (London, 1715).
