Collections concerning parliamentary affairs, copied for Wadham Wyndham by Thomas Muttlebury, 1633, from the original in Lincoln's Inn belonging to John Dodge. Many of the items are printed or abstracted in J. Rushworth, Historical collections, i (London, 1659), 211, 242-3, 247-50, 462-7, 484-5, 533-43, 574-85. The contents of fols. 103-57 are also in Lincoln's Inn MS. Maynard 72. The collections include:

  1. (fols. 1-102) reports of the habeas corpus cases of Sir Thomas Darnell, Sir John Corbet, Sir Walter Earle, Sir Edmund Hampden and Sir John Henningham in King's Bench, 1627, and the related parliamentary proceedings, 1628
  2. (fols. 125-53) reports of 21 cases concerning parliamentary elections brought before a committee of the House of Commons, 1623-4, published as Reports of certain cases ... collected by John Glanville (London, 1775). Published in microform, and described in Baker, p. 185.

Biographical / Historical

Sir Thomas Darnell, d. 1638, 1st Baronet, was an English landowner, at the centre of a celebrated state legal case in the reign of Charles I of England, often known as the 'Five Knights' Case'. Sir John Corbet, bap. 1594-d. 1662, 1st Baronet, was an English politician. Sir Walter Earle, 1586-1665, was an English politician.
