Biographical / Historical
The Brettingham family were English architects from Norwich including Matthew Brettingham the elder (1699-1769), Matthew Brettingham the younger (1725-1803) and Robert William Furze Brettingham (c. 1750-1820). Clara Maria Pope (nee Leigh, other married name Wheatley, bap. 1767-d. 1838) was an English flower painter.
