Volume of copies by John Wallis of political correspondence deciphered by him for the government, with keys to the ciphers used, 1669-70, 1688-95, 1702-3. Most of the correspondence is between French ambassadors or other officials abroad and Louis XIV and French Secretaries of State, or from Jacobites. At fol. iii is an account by Wallis of his experience of deciphering letters, 17 March 1703, and at fol. iv his advice to the printer 'if these deciphered letters come to be printed'.
