Papers of Dr Gerald Stone relating to Nevill Forbes, assembled in the course of writing Forbes' entry in the Oxford Dictionary of National Biography. Comprises correspondence, 1998-2009, including with Forbes' niece Felicity Ashbee, notes and articles on Forbes, Felicity Ashbee's memoir of her uncle and copies of photographs (with some negatives) of him as a child, young man and adult, including some with his parents.

Nevill Forbes (1883-1929) was a Slavonic scholar, noted for the influence of his grammars and textbooks, who spent most of his career at the University of Oxford. See the Oxford Dictionary of National Biography.
