Biographical / Historical

Friedrich Max Müller (1823-1900) was a Sanskritist and philologist. He was inmvolved in various academic areas including: Vedic studies, comparative philology, comparative mythology, and comparative religion. Müller is widely understood to have played a key role in developing comparative religion as a field of study. For further details see the Oxford Dictionary of National Biography.
