Biographical / Historical
The World Meteorological Organization (WMO), established in 1950, is an intergovernmental organisation specialising in meteorology, operational hydrology and related geophysical sciences. The organisation is a specialised agency of the United Nations (UN) and has can trace its legacy back to the International Meteorological Organization (IMO) established in 1873 at the Vienna International Meteorological Congress.
