Biographical / Historical

Henry Edward Duke, 1st Baron Merrivale (1855-1939), was a judge and politician. He was Member of Parliament for Plymouth, 1900-1906, and for Exeter, 1906-1918. He was made a Privy Councillor, 1915, and after the Easter Rising, became Chief Secretary for Ireland, 1916-1918.
