The photographic materials in this collection were created by William Henry Fox Talbot and sent to John Dillwyn Llewelyn. The majority of the photogenic drawings or prints in the collection have either been signed or bear annotations by Talbot indicating that he was their creator, or are known to have been his work. A few materials bear no attribution but are believed to be Talbot's work. Several have been annotated 'fx', 'x', and 'not' by Talbot, which appears to denote that the materials annotated 'fx' and 'x' have been fixed by Talbot, with 'not' indicating that they have not been fixed. Several have also been annotated, on the verso in pencil, 'MTT' by Mary Theresa Talbot, sister-in-law of John Dillwyn Llewelyn.
