A collection of twenty-seven ‘lyric poems’ or nursery rhymes, many of which are set to music. Written in an early nineteenth-century hand, the authorship is uncertain but the surname ‘Cazenove’ appears in the text, which preserves relatively early versions of traditional rhymes. The manuscript is slightly cropped, having been bound in tree calf with decorative gold tooling after it was written.
